Where Nature Meets Endurance: The Forest Trail Run 2025
Hyderabad’s running community experienced a refreshing blend of fitness and nature on 16
November 2025 at The Forest Trail Run, an event hosted by Uppal Runners and supported by
Hyderabad Runners and Telangana Runners. Set against the lush backdrop of Bhagyanagara
Nandanavanam in Narapally along the Warangal Highway, the run offered participants a rare
opportunity to escape the city’s pace and immerse themselves in the tranquillity of forest trails.
Recognized as one of the top trail events of the year, the Forest Trail Run welcomed
participants across various categories, including the 5K Fun/Family Run/Walk and the 10K,
16K, and 24K non-timed distances. The morning began at dawn, with runners setting off
between 5:45 AM and 7:00 AM, enjoying the cool winter air, the sound of rustling leaves, and
the earthy trails that wound through the forest. The atmosphere encouraged runners of all levels
to take in their surroundings, move at their own pace, and rediscover the joy of running in
nature.
The event also stood out for its emphasis on inclusion and community engagement. A special
performance by the Army Band set a vibrant tone for the day. At the same time, cultural
presentations by children from Ashray Akruti’s Special School added warmth and meaning to
the celebrations. A lively flash mob by WEST trainees brought an energetic twist to the venue,
and a Basic Indian Sign Language workshop helped participants connect more deeply with
members of the Hearing Impaired community, reinforcing the event’s commitment to
accessibility and social awareness.
The event was honored by the presence of distinguished guests who have played pivotal roles
in shaping Telangana's running culture. Mr. Rajesh Vetcha, Founder President of the
Hyderabad Runners Society, attended the event alongside Mr. Arun, President of the
Hyderabad Runners Society, and Mr. Soma Jagan, President of the Telangana Runners
Society. Their presence, encouragement, and interaction with runners heightened the
celebration of community spirit and reinforced the values of fitness and togetherness that the
event stood for.
Participants were greeted with a premium event T-shirt, a goodie bag, a finisher medal, and a
hearty breakfast, ensuring the experience was both memorable and rewarding. SAG and
medical support throughout the venue ensured a safe environment for every runner, from
seasoned athletes to first-time trail enthusiasts. With iFinish serving as the registration partner,
the event saw smooth coordination and a seamless experience from expo day to the finish line.
One of the participants, Anita R. from Uppal, shared her experience: “This was my first trail run,
and I didn’t expect it to feel so magical. The forest, the cool air and the silence made me forget I
was even running. It felt like a reset button for the mind. I’ll definitely be back next year.”
At its core, The Forest Trail Run was created to highlight the joy of running in a natural setting,
and this year’s edition delivered that vision with sincerity and spirit. What unfolded was not just a
race but a celebration of community, nature, and collective well-being. For many, it served as a
reminder of the simple yet profound pleasure of running beneath open skies, surrounded by the
quiet strength of nature. For more info, visit https://www.ifinish.in/
